PENGAPIT POPULAR
Alhamdulillah, aku bersyukur kenalan-kenalan aku ramai yg dah kawin. 2 minggu lepas selamat dah sorang lagi. Dan buat kesekian kalinya aku di minta jadi pengapit. Kalu kira masuk ni dah 4 kali. And the latest news is that, come August, aku mungkin jadik pengapit utk cousin aku pulak.
terharu...
aku terharu...
sedih pun ade...
kenapa?...
kerana...
BILE TURN AKU PLAK NAK ADE PENGAPITTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!
...isk...isk...
apepun, pengalaman jadi pengapit ni menarik gak. First time aku jadi pengapit ialah untuk Iswardy masa masih bergelar student. Ape exactly tugas sebagai pengapit, agak blur bagi aku. Is nikah di Malaysian Student Department di London dan majlis tu was very simple (but beautiful). Setahu aku masa tu tiada family member pasangan pengantin yang hadir, cuma sahabat2 dan kenalan2, so there was not that much pressure on me as a pengapit. No payung or kipas to hold and there seemed to be no sweat on forehead to wipe off considering the weather. Although I was actually sitting behind Iswardy when the akad nikah process took place, so how much water lost by perspiration by Iswardy during that time is oblivious to me.
Second time, it was for my friend, Malek. He asked me to be his pengapit and I thought, sure, why not? this time, it's Batu Pahat, Johor. And so, armed with that 'vast' experience from the previous wedding, aku pun bergerak le menuju ke Johor. Sampai je depan rumah pengantin pompuan (PP), kteorg ditahan oleh 'toll gate man' (TGM). Tengah2 jalan dia duduk. Nak masuk free jekk? mane bulehh... berpeluh gak aku. Sistem tol cam gini aku tade experience lagik. Oh, sebelum aku lupa, ni belum jumpa PP lagi ni. PP ade kat dlm umah.
So, after the silat performance is over, we were led to the house and I thought, at last, it is over. I was wrong. There they were, thousands of 'toll gate girls' (okay, may be not thousands) forming a barricade, extending their hands and craning their necks asking for that same envelope I gave out before, you know, the one TGM received earlier in exchange for the alleged 'safe passage' to PP's room. How, I wonder, could I satisfy all of them when there was only a limited number of envelopes, i.e. duit sikit jekk! Alhamdulillah, bile sampul nampak cam makin surut, adela sorang abang tu mintak bebudak pompuan tu bagi laluan. phew... totally different from before.. hehe..great experience, that was.
